Raising the Bar | Athens Tennessee Photography

We’ll just call this Valentine’s Day ‘sweetest day of the decade’.
Husband admitted to thinking – after 3 days – “WHAT am I doing?”
(… digging a pretty big hole here for next year!).
He raised the bar for all the little grasshoppers ;)

‘Valentine’s Week’ started Tuesday with chocolate covered cherries
(which have already been blogged about … and eaten).
And it continued through the week.
Wednesday … jelly hearts. Thursday … flowers. Friday … dinner out.
Saturday he heads to town for plumbing supplies and returns with these:

Chocolate covered strawberries from The Bakery in Athens, Tennessee.

Now anyone in their right mind KNOWS
you have to eat chocolate covered strawberries pretty quick.

To be honest, by Valentine’s Day I was beginning to feel a bit funny
about this attention while loving it at the same time.
I mean, I had a little something purchased for my Valentine the week before
but it was ONE thing … for VALENTINE’S DAY
(No one told me we were celebrating all week!).
Sunday morning I returned to our room to find 2 bags of chocolate
and a nicely wrapped box from Sliger’s on the bed – a sweet pair of silver earrings.
I’d say he’s good for another year.
But truth be told I would keep him even if he completely ignored Valentine’s Day.

And while it lasted a good 6 days I’m thinking
he probably should have extended it by 1
and included a membership to Weight Watcher’s.
